Tony & Shpresa are no strangers to Kellie&Jean Photography. They have hired me for several different occasions- their engagement photos, maternity session, the Fresh 48 Newborn Session when their daughter was born, and now their family photos! At this recent session Shpresa labeled me as their family photographer, and I couldn’t be more delighted to have that role in their lives! They have officially made me their memory bank; capturing & storing all of their most precious moments in life! I’m so in love with that!
For their Fall Family Session, the weather was perfect! The sun was shining. The red, orange and gold leaves on the trees were starting to make their Autumnal appearance. Most importantly, it wasn’t too chilly for sweet little Lula. Originally, Tony & Shpresa wanted an in-home lifestyle newborn session, but they decided to save that for another time and take advantage of the beautiful Michigan Fall weather.
We started at Spicer’s Apple Orchard in Fenton. I was a little worried about the crowd. I had just been to another apple orchard in the area the weekend before on a nice day, and it was PACKED. Even when I ventured deep into the orchard of this other location, I was still surrounded by families picking apples- which is great, if you’re that family picking apples. Not so great when you’re trying to do a photo shoot with a scenic background of the apple trees.
When I arrived at Spicer’s to meet them, it seemed like I was car #60 in a line to park… on the main road because the lot was full. I wont lie- my thoughts instantly went to “oh crap”, but ever the optimist that I am, my next thoughts were “well that’s what photoshop is for! I’ll just photoshop the masses of people out of their family photos”. Much to my surprise, it was only the parking lot and the pumpkin patch/donut & cider shop that was full. The apple orchard was ours for the taking- not a single apple picking soul in sight. SCORE!
