Ugh I just loved the relaxed vibes of this maternity session in Fenton, MI. I do enjoy a long flowy gown in a tall grassy field with a gorgeous sunset, but something about a casual in home baby bump session just gets me. Katlyn went with cute jeans for everyone, and a matching Calvin Klein set for herself- which I feel is perfect for an in home maternity session. Home is everyone’s comfy spot, so i love when clients dress the part for that. Cozy, casual, relaxed. Love it!

Funny story- I did their family pictures last fall and we all joked that they’d be next to have another baby, and they didn’t realize they were already pregnant at that time. I was sooo geeked when Katlyn emailed me a few months later to set up their in home maternity session.

It’s always an honor to be invited into my clients lives to document their most important moments, but man… I can’t even tell you the joy it brings me to be invited over and over again. I love getting to know these families, and showing them how I see them.

We kept a lot of this session focused on their bond together as a family of 3, and lots of fun little moments with Berkeley. I really wanted to get some special pictures of Katlyn and Berkeley, and I was so happy that we were able to make that happen. Those photos of the two of them together are some of my favorites. The little toddler toes next to the baby bump? Ugh. Pulls at my heart strings! Of course we had to do some solo baby bump shots, and Katlyn nailed that. I also love that Charles was super involved in this maternity session. Sometimes, dads don’t think they should be in the maternity pictures? I’m not sure why, but I often get asked when clients are booking, if their husbands can join and it’s just not even question for me 😂 UM YES. Please. I promise it won’t be weird. I promise you’ll be happy you were both there. As a Fenton MI maternity photographer, I’m here to tell your story, and dads are a huge important part of that story.
