The last time I saw this adorable family was a few years ago for Annika’s newborn session. Can’t even tell you what a privilege it is to be invited into my clients most special moments in time- x2! I keep all of my newborn sessions very natural and relaxed, so this one is pretty true to my newborn session style.
Natural newborn photography is my jam. I don’t really do much as far as posing the babies. I think those posed baby photos are adorable and precious, but for my in home newborn sessions, I really like for the photos to tell a story. And I think it’s so much easier to do that, when everything is almost as it is when I’m not there.
Annika was extremely shy with me when we first started, and that’s totally okay! I don’t ever try to force a smile out of a little one who needs a little more time to warm up to a stranger being in their home. I like to give young siblings lots of breaks during these newborn sessions, so I’ll start with them with their new baby & family; and then I let them go play for a little bit. A lot of times, they’re very interested in the session, and come back around to see what we’re doing. You’ll see that she came around towards the end of the session with her big smile. And then Hallie- she was such a little love bug. So sleepy and chill the entire time. Emily and Ryan had all of the cutest bows and outfits set out for our session (find some cute baby bows/swaddle sets at Lou Lou & Co)
