How NOT to do family pictures- a memoir.
Here’s a fun little lesson about how I didn’t make my family pictures a priority last year.
- Definitely don’t put off hiring your own family photographer, even though you have your own camera, do this for a living, take your own pics all the time, etc. Setting up the shot, messing with my camera, getting these 3 (yes my husband too) on my level, and then attempting to not look frazzled but instead look happy and carefree… it’s just a no.
- Don’t wait until the day after you host Thanksgiving at your house because a) you’re exhausted, b) you still have a food baby and c) your kids will hate your ever living guts because they are also dealing with exhibit a and b.
- Waiting until November 24th to get “quick” family pictures of all 4 of you, and it just so happened to be 12 degrees outside. But it’s now or never, so let’s pretend it’s Fall and not a frozen tundra. Yay! Love that for us!!
That’s all. This was a note to myself. And it’s still burned (or frozen) into my brain- which is why I already booked my family pictures this year with a photographer I am obsessed with. These kids- they don’t stop changing, and they get lankier every year.
Don’t be like 2023 Kellie. Be like 2024 Kellie and book your family photos 5 months in advance to avoid being like 2023 Kellie. The end.
