This sunrise family session in Howell, MI was one of my favorites of last year! If you’re looking for fun family pictures, I’m the one for you! That’s what I aim for with all of my family sessions, and I think we nailed it.
These beautiful and kind people travelled from Chicago to visit their family, and booked a session to take place at their family farm while they were here. When Whitney first reached out to me, she said she was looking for some nice family portraits, but that she really wanted to document how much fun they were having together as a family of three. Mission accomplished!
There were so many beautiful places for us to explore on this property, and with the sun doing its beautiful golden thing? Magic. My favorite part of the whole session though, was the tree swing they had in the front yard. Something so simple and it required zero work or effort. I could have taken photos of them playing with that for hours! The movement, the joy and laughter- ugh. It was just so amazing! The swing allowed for some really cute GIF videos too.
Sunrise in the Fall is kiiiindof chilly. Like 38 degrees chilly. But we gave Edith a couple of good snack breaks, and a warm up inside, and she was happy! I think running around and playing with your family probably feels like warmth, and I love that… until the wind blows and you’re reminded that we should all be in winter coats 😂
