This forest maternity session in Wixom was one of my favorites of the year! I love shooting at this spot. It’s such a great hidden gem, that you’d never expect to find. I shoot at this forest location year round because it’s pretty in all 4 seasons- which is kind of hard to find in Michigan, unless you like the dead yellow grass look in early spring 😂
Kristen and Trevor booked a maternity and newborn session with me, and picked this wooded location because they said it was similarly matched with how they were decorating their nursery. I can’t wait to share the photos from their newborn session, because this location was such a perfect spot for them.
And that is exactly why I love to collaborate with my clients on the who what when where of their sessions. I’m always scouting for new locations, and I pick them based on the lighting, the amount of distractions (hopefully lack there of), the general scenery, and the natural beauty of it. I know right away what will photograph well with my shooting and editing style.
