Introducing baby Elina and her loving parents + Grandparents!
Not a lot of things can make me cry. Not even with the birth of both of my babies did I shed a single tear. Christmas, greeting cards, the movie ‘Southpaw’- these are all things that will turn on the waterworks for me. Definitely NOT a session… except this one. This is the first session I’ve ever gotten emotional at, and probably the last (for the sake of all things pretending to not be vulnerable much like myself, I pray it’s the last!)
This is the lovely Elina and her wonderfully kind family. Rolando and Emily are the most extraordinary people, and they’re just so happy that it makes you feel happy. Their joy is so contagious, that as I sit here and look through their photos again, I can’t stop smiling. Documenting the three of them as a family was truly a gift to me, and getting to photograph not one, but TWO sets of Grandparents? Photographer jackpot! Emily’s parents flew in from Missouri and Rolando’s flew in all the way from Ecuador. So I walked in to a house completely filled with love, and it was just so powerful and so present, that it took over my emotions. (I’m not just being nice and throwing some fluffy words on to their session- this really happened to me! 😂) I could never do the feelings justice with my jumbled up words, but just know that these people are completely amazing, and I felt such a true and deep connection with all of them. Plus, Elina was born on my birthday, and I always feel extremely in tune with people who share my birthday.
And there you have the story of how I cried at a session, but more so… there you have the story of how two amazing people brought this beautiful little (but so big and bright) light into this world.
ps. Elina means light. So fitting for her!
