For this beautiful maternity session, we went to Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Mears, Michigan!
I lovelovelove when a client is down for whatever- like driving 2+ hours for a beautiful location. If you’re looking for a desert like vibe for your maternity session, Silver Lake Sand Dunes is the one. Tall sandy hills, a gorgeous sunset, and a beautiful pregnant mama- chef’s kiss! We were both out of breath as we climbed these hills- Chelsie, for obvious reasons (and to be honest, I didn’t even really hear her over my own huffing & puffing). I was nervous that the park would be busy, but there really weren’t too many people in the way, and the ones who were, immediately disappeared with one click in Photoshop. However, there was one guy who walked up to us and just stood there watching. After a few minutes, he said “nice!” and walked away. It was strange, but funny 🤷🏻♀️
Chelsie had two beautiful dresses for this session, and both were perfect for the location. The things that stood out most to me- her hair blowing wildly in the wind, her stunning eyes, and beautiful baby bump, and just her overall willingness to get creative with me; making this one of my favorite maternity sessions of 2023.
I’d love to do more maternity pictures here this summer, and a family session too! I can just see kids running wild & free on these hills, and I envision a wide shot with the whole family spread out in the distance on the very top of the hill, with the sunset behind them. Dreeeeamy!
