Searching for a photographer to take your extended family photos? I’m your girl! I’m a photographer in southeast Michigan specializing in fun and natural family, maternity and newborn photos.
Extended family photos are one of my favorite types of sessions to shoot! There’s just something about a big group of people loving each other enough to join together and get photographed. If you think about it, when was the last time you got your whole family together and got updated pictures of all of you? Probably rarely, which is why these extended family sessions are so wonderful. They also make THE perfect gift for your parents and/or grandparents.
You’d think that coordinating a session for a family this large would be hard to do, but outside of everyone being on the same page with scheduling, I think it was really pretty easy! My styling tool helps to plan outfits for everyone (read more about styling a session here), and I take care of the rest. For my extended family photos, I do a tonnnn of different photo groupings. I like to start and end with full group shots. In between that, each individual family/couple gets their own little mini shoot. Cousins all together. Kid siblings. Adult siblings. And then we get some really sweet grandparents shots in there as well! Pretty much any grouping of photos that you can think of- we do it! It’s impossible for me to stay anywhere even near close to delivering only 70 images for an extended family session. This gallery had 208 images when I delivered it to them!
For this fall session, we had a lot of fun with the milkweed and throwing around all of the fluff that comes off of them. These guys were all just really fun and easy to be with. They were open to anything I suggested, and had so much love for each other- it was a special session.
Because this gallery was so huge, and I loved this session so much, this post will have an excessive amount of images. Sorry not sorry!
