Loving this maternity session in Milford MI, and I love love love working with Sierra and Nate. I met them last fall when they booked a couples session with me, and we were immediate friends. At the time, we had talked about doing a session again the following year to celebrate their anniversary. So when Sierra reached out to schedule a maternity and newborn session, and not the anniversary session we had talked about, I was ecstatic! Bring me allll the baby bumps and cutie newborn babes!
Long flowy gowns for my sunset maternity sessions are a yes for me- and the color choice was perfect for a fall maternity session. (I like referring my clients to Free People, Fillyboo, and Reclamation for maternity session dresses). They opted for an outfit change halfway through my their session- which, in case you were wondering… totally doable during my maternity sessions. I always say to stick with 2-3 outfit changes. I love using this field when I’m shooting my sessions in Milford MI. It has easy access to the shooting spot (which is actually really hard to find when I’m scouting my locations, because I don’t want to see a parking lot in photos. So I’m always looking for something set back from that type of scenery). It also has some pretty sunlight filtering through the trees, and the most perfect tall grass.
They brought along some sweet accessories for their maternity session. Sadly, they lost one of their twins, Nixon, at 18 weeks, and so it was very important to them (and to me) to tell that part of their story. It is always so cool to be a small part of my client’s lives, but to be given the opportunity to document something so sacred and special to their hearts… I just don’t even have the words. I am thankful for that level of trust. And I am honored to be able to give them something that hopefully brings them some peace, while also telling their story.
