This downtown Detroit Engagement session features the lovely couple, Steven & Tonka!
Steven & Tonka’s session took place at the amazing Detroit Institute of Arts, as well as the Detroit Public Library. Being that they were looking for Downtown/Metropolitan looking images, the location that they chose was perfect! Photographing these two was really special, because the energy and chemistry between the two of them was undeniable. They were always laughing and smiling, and sometimes even forgetting that I was there (which is perfect for lifestyle images). It’s so nice to see a couple have so much fun with one another, and even nicer to be able to capture that in an image. Seriously, just look at them! You can see and feel the love and happiness they share.
We began their session inside of The DIA, but moved outside shortly after, where the perfectly pink magnolia trees were in full bloom. I’d say we had pretty good timing with our session, because those only stay in bloom for about two weeks, and the photos with those blooms are some of my favorites. After finishing up at The DIA, we jumped across the street to the Detroit Public Library grounds, and finished up our session there.
PS. I’m loving the colors of this session. When done right, pops of color really draw your eye. Tonka & Steven hit the nail on the head with their looks!
