As a Royal Oak Newborn Photographer, I see a lotttt of cute babies. Which is great for me because my husband said no more babies for us 😭 So I’m lucky that I can (attempt to) get my baby fever under control via my clients having the most adorable babes.

Jessica & Mike were looking for a newborn photographer, and ended up going with the maternity session before their newborn session. This may be a shock (insert sarcasm), but I am allll about maternity photos before newborn photos. It was just so amazing to be able to document both for them. There is nothing more incredible in this world than a gorgeous glowing pregnant mama. I know sometimes (most of the time) it doesn’t feel like the most glamorous time in life, and you might have had a tough pregnancy. But I can promise you this- you will NEVER regret documenting this part of your life, during pregnancy and after.

I took a few maternity photos of myself, and some newborn photos of my babies and it will never be enough, as far as I’m concerned. Even though I’m a maternity and newborn photographer, I didn’t take nearly as many photos as I wish I had now. As I mentioned earlier, my baby making days are over. And the day that you can say that with finality, you’ll be wishing you could go back in time 😭 it’s crazy how fast it all passes you by. Get as many photos as you can, and hang on to them forever… ya never know when you’ll be late night scrolling your camera roll and spontaneously burst into the ugly cry, wishing you could go back. Jk I don’t know who would ever do that…

Anyway, back to these newborn photos. So cute, so squishy, so much love! Oh and doggies. Beckett’s nursery is one of my favorites of the whole year. I love the tones, boho touches and (shameless plug) the framed photos from our maternity session together. The colors in his room also paired perfectly with Jessica’s gorgeous free people gown. If you know me, you know I’m obsessed with all things free people for myself. They also have THE best maternity/post partum options for photos and they photograph beautifully. It’s my number one recommendation for all sessions/all women/all body types for that reason!
